Freezer door gasket
A freezer door gasket is the seal around the hinged door or sliding door of a freezer cell. It ensures that cold air stays inside and prevents moisture ingress and ice formation along the door. Gaskets for a freezer cell hinged door or sliding door are susceptible to wear with intensive use. We offer a wide range of rubber profiles for replacing hinged door and sliding door seals of freezer cells. You can order these profiles per linear meter or on rolls of, for example, 25 meters. Freezer cell doors often also have a sweep seal that seals the bottom of the door to the floor.

Types of freezer door gaskets
In freezer cells, you typically find rubber profiles, but PVC profiles also occur. Therefore, first check what material it is. The difference is also clearly visible to a layman. PVC has a wall thickness of less than 1 mm. Rubber is several millimeters thick and almost always black. Is there a magnet in the profile? Then it is not rubber, because rubber profiles never contain a magnet.

- PVC profile: thinner profile, often with a magnet.
Replacing a freezer door gasket? Keep this in mind
Does a freezer cell have to work harder than usual? That could indicate a worn door gasket. Check the following points:
- Does the profile feel hard or stiff, or do you see cracks?
- Does the hinged door or sliding door still close completely, without a gap?
- Do you notice cold air or a draft along the edge of the door, or are there blocks of ice on the door? With a leaking seal, condensation freezes to it.
With intensive use of a freezer cell, the door gasket wears out faster than with regular refrigeration. A worn profile allows cold air to escape. That costs extra energy and makes the temperature in the freezer cell less stable.
Because rubber cannot be welded, you always repair or extend a freezer door gasket with our professional rubber glue. This is specifically developed for the durable bonding of rubber profiles.
The right profile starts with the right choice
Compare the shape of your old profile and order what you need. In the calculation tool you can see the ordering options per profile. Some profiles we supply as a frame with vulcanized corners, others only per meter. For some profiles, corner pieces and mounting strips are also available. When replacing, always check the old profile code or the exact dimensions, so that the new profile has the same fit and closure.
Order in a few steps
- Determine the profile. Search by brand, or by type and shape of the profile
- Choose how to order. Per linear meter, on a roll or, where possible, as a frame
- Order matching corner pieces and mounting strips if necessary
- Place your order
New to DSU? With your first order as a refrigeration company, you will receive a free sample case with commonly used profiles. We ship your order quickly: it will go with the delivery service within 2 to 5 days.
You bond the corners yourself on site with rubber glue. We vulcanize, where the corners are seamlessly joined, in our own production. This is not possible for every profile. In the configuration tool, you can see what is possible for each profile.
Yes, when ordering per linear meter or on a roll, you cut the profile to the correct length yourself during installation. If you prefer to work with a ready-made door gasket, vulcanizing the corners is possible for some profiles, visible in the calculation tool.
